Little Ears

Poor Rya Grace is on her third antibiotic in the last 7 weeks. Her ears keep getting infected as soon as she has any sort of congestion. And she seems blessed with sinuses like her parents that react to the weather constantly so congestion at some level is the norm.

She had her first double ear infection (a bad one too!) at the beginning of January. She went on an antibiotic for 10 days. Her congestion cleared up and her ears seemed better. Then at the beginning of February she got congested again (I think it was just a sinus flare because the congestion was only for 3-4 days) and started messing with her ears. Once again a double ear infection. We did a different antibiotic this time that was for 10 days. (That ended this last Saturday.) Her doctor and I discussed consulting with and ENT and decided that would be a good course of action. We saw the ENT on day 8 of her medicine. Her ears had fluid and she has hearing loss in her left ear (hopefully from the fluid!!) but her ears were not infected. The ENT said tubes would be a very wise choice so that shin-dig is scheduled for Monday the 25th. (Please be praying!) This last Sunday her nose started running and shortly after she started grabbing at her left ear. (Which btw the only tip is her playing with her ears- no fever, no miserable baby.)

That brings us to today. I took her in for her one year check up and again both ears are infected. She is trying a new antibiotic and we are hoping this clears it up! Between this new antibiotic and getting the tubes in on Monday we will hopefully not have ear trouble for awhile!!

I'm so looking forward to warmer, sunny days where we can get outside. With that usually comes the end of cold and flu season and I am psyched about that!! :)

Rya's First Year

Here is Rya's first year of life, from newbie to a toddler, via pictures.

No Longer a Baby

My Rya Grace turned one yesterday. I was so excited to have a special day to celebrate her life. Part of me was sad though- I am not ready for my baby to grow up! This year has absolutely FLOWN by. I don't remember being sad when Titus turned one. And I feel bad about that. I was tearing up while we were singing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday girl. I know she had a good day, even though at bedtime all she could do was cry. Birthdays are exhausting, didn't ya know? Here are some pictures from her special day. A special thanks to my hubby and friends Heather and Jared for taking pictures. I barely touched the camera all day!

A massive thank you to my sister-in-law, Alex for making the cupcakes. They were AMAZING!!!

My friend's ADORABLE son, Rowan was helping me check out a toy.

Yesterday was a blast and a blessing. I am so excited to celebrate Rya's life with Bryan's side on the family this coming weekend. :o)

ps. I apologize for the lack of awesome cake pictures. Apparently my kids aren't really into cake. :o)

Favorite Pictures (Recents)

I've been taking a lot of pictures recently whether on my phone or camera. I love capturing faces and moments. Here are some of my favorites from the camera (recent favs at least). Some were taken by Bryan as well. Enjoy- there's a lot!

I always enjoy doing some sort of funny hair cut before shaving their heads. :o)

(I LOVE the sparkle in his eyes in this picture.)

I feel bad that most of the pictures were of Rya. She is just so much more cooperative at this stage in life. I'm hoping that continues as we try to do a photo shoot for her 1 year pictures some time in the next week or two. Hopefully I will have those to post soon!
